DESCRIPTION:Lily Barker is a 22-year-old British soprano. She studied Music at King’s College London alongside a vocal partnership with the Royal Academy of Music. She worked with John Lattimore and Alex Ashworth and is currently continuing her vocal studies with Alastair Brookshaw. \nLily held a Vocal Scholarship at the Centre for Young Musicians. Recent performance highlights include appearances with Longhope Opera\, Richmond Opera\, and Lumos Experiences. Alongside her performance work\, \nLily regularly presents and performs recital series celebrating musical theatre across \nLondon and Essex\, with recent venues including St Alfege Church\, Greenwich\, and The Arc\, Harlow.

SUMMARY:Lunchtime Concert- Christine Stevenson- Piano Concerto
DESCRIPTION:Christine Stevenson \nChristine Stevenson enjoys a distinguished career as a piano recitalist and concerto soloist throughout the UK and abroad\, continually drawing critical acclaim for her virtuosity\, musicianship\, and the engaging rapport she establishes with audiences. She is co-Artistic Director and tutor at the annual Summer School for Pianists at Stowe in Buckinghamshire where she gives masterclasses\, and she is also on the staff of the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music in London. Her writings about piano music can be found at www.notesfromapianist.wordpress.com. \nThis season’s concerts include programmes entitled ‘The Art of Pilgrimage’\, based around Liszt’s Années de Pèlerinage: II – Italie\, where the pieces were inspired by works of art and sculpture by Raphael and Michelangelo\, by a song attributed to Salvator Rosa\, and by poetry and literature written by Petrarch and Dante. Christine’s recording of Années de Pèlerinage: II – Italie was released in the year of Liszt’s bicentenary\, receiving excellent reviews. Curiosities are also featured this season – variations on a theme by Diabelli written by composers other than Beethoven: by the eleven-year-old Liszt\, by Schubert\, and by Franz Xaver Mozart\, youngest surviving son of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. \nBorn in Melbourne\, Christine graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts with distinction\, being twice awarded the Gaitskell Prize for the most outstanding student. She studied with pupils of Cortot\, of Nadia Boulanger and of Michelangeli\, and with the celebrated English pianist Ronald Smith\, also participating in masterclasses given by Sergei Dorensky\, Aldo Ciccolini\, and Vlado Perlemuter.

SUMMARY:An Afternoon of Opera- Three Soloists and a Live Choir!
DESCRIPTION:Giulia Cipriani (Soprano) \nFollowing the success of the Christmas concert\, Giulia is excited to come back to Coggeshall with a group of colleagues and friends\, continuing to share her love of opera with local audiences. Her performance career spans both opera and musical theatre – having performed as lead singer in Dance Factory’s productions of A Night at the Musicals and Welcome to Broadway\, before going on to make her London opera debut\, taking on the roles of Dritte Dame in The Magic Flute (Greenwich Theatre)\, Cover Annina in La Traviata\, and Chorus in La Bohème. Giulia is also looking ahead to taking on the role of the Duchess in Dorian Gray at the Mercury Theatre in October 2026. \nGrigore Riciu (Tenor) \nGrigore studied singing at the “Academy of Music\, Theater and Fine Arts” Moldova. Worked as a Stage Director Assistant and Head of Opera Department\, at the National Opera House in Moldova. In June 2023 Grigore sang Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor (Brent Opera)\, in May 2024 Cavaradossi in Tosca (Rose Opera)\, in December 2024 Calaf in Turandot (LPMAM)\, in March and October 2025 Calaf in Turandot (Instant Opera)\, in June 2025 Tamino in The Magic Flute (Opera Greenwich)\, and in May 2026 Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut (Rose Орега). \nJennifer Peters (Soprano) \nJennifer trained at Mountview Academy in London. Previous credits include Beauty & the Beast (Chequer Mead Theatre)\, Dear Zoo Live! (UK tour)\, The Three Little Pigs (UK tour)\, Liberty Hall (Louche Bouche Productions/Mercury Theatre Studio\, Colchester) Ben Hur Macbeth\, Twelfth Night (all Castle Park Theatre\, Colchester) and Lapland UK.

SUMMARY:The Kelvedon Singers- A Special Fundraising Summer Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Kelvedon Singers are delighted to be returning to St Peter’s ad Vincula in Coggeshall. Coggeshall’s parish Church is a magnificent Grade I listed building and one of the largest ‘wool churches’ in Essex. Built in the early 15th century during the peak of the local wool trade it sits on a site that hosted Christian worship since Saxon times. It has faced difficulties over the centuries\, and following a period of neglect\, the church underwent a major\, sympathetic restoration in the 19th century. In 1940\, a Luftwaffe bomb destroyed much of the north-west end and caused the nave’s roof to collapse. The extensive reconstruction and repair took place from 1955-1958. Today the Church remains at the heart of the community\, not only as a centre for worship\, but as host to many activities\, groups and concerts. It once again faces difficulties\, with the soaring cost of maintenance\, energy and funding for vicar and vicarage. \nOur Special Summer Concert raising funds for the Church will include Henry Wood’s ‘Sea Songs’\, Brahms Waltzes\, Mendelssohn\, Fauré\, a little light Jazz\, songs from My Fair Lady and much\, much more…. \nWith Buck’s Fizz and delicious canapés in the Interval\, and music to suit all tastes\, we promise you an evening to delight and lift your spirits! \n\nClick here to find out more

DESCRIPTION:ESSEX YOUTH JAZZ OCTET\nEstablished in 2021\, the Essex Youth Jazz Octet is a dynamic young ensemble led by award winning jazz musician Tom Jiggins.\nBringing together some of the region’s most talented young performers\, the octet rehearses weekly\, developing a diverse repertoire rooted in the jazz tradition while embracing contemporary influences.\nSince its formation\, the ensemble has performed at a range of high-profile events across Essex\, including the ‘Essex Year of Reading’ and the ‘Essex Year of Numbers’. The group has also become a regular feature at the annual Teachers’ Conference in Chelmsford and has been featured on ITV News\, reflecting its growing reputation for musical excellence and vibrant live performance.\nPlayers – Ashley Cook\, Daniel Hartin\, Gabriel Goddard\, Harrison Moore\, Mollie Sumner\, Oliver Toms\, Summer Pateman & Tania\nNeethling. \nTOM JIGGINS\, BAND DIRECTOR\nTom is a multi-award-winning musician and highly experienced teacher based in Colchester\, Essex. With over 16 years of teaching\nexperience\, he has guided students of all ages and abilities\, many of whom have gone on to study at top music conservatoires and\nestablish professional careers in music.\nTom began his studies at Colchester Institute\, specialising in classical piano and percussion\, and graduated with a BA (Hons) in\nMusic. During this time\, he won several awards\, including the Cannon Jack Piano Competition Trophy (2013)\, the Cyril Moles Duet\nCompetition Trophy (2012 and 2013)\, and the Ensembles Competition Shield (2012). In 2014\, he continued his training at the\nprestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London\, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Jazz Percussion.\nHis studies gave him the opportunity to work with internationally renowned musicians and professors such as Martin Hathaway\,\nTrevor Tomkins\, Malcolm Edmonstone\, Malcolm Miles\, Carlos Lopez-Real\, Stuart Hall\, Scott Stroman\, Gareth Lockrane\, Adriano\nAdewale\, Barry Green\, Robbie Robson\, Kurt Elling\, and Bobo Stenson.\nAlongside his teaching\, Tom maintains an active performing career. He has appeared at some of the UK’s most iconic jazz venues and\nwas a long-standing member of the house trio at ‘Jazz at the Alex’ and a current member of the house trio at Norwich Jazz Club. His\nperformance work has taken him across the UK and internationally\, with tours in Germany\, France and Poland.\nTom has extensive experience delivering one-to-one instrumental tuition\, with many of his students successfully gaining places at\nleading UK music conservatoires. Alongside individual lessons\, he teaches group classes and directs small and large ensembles\,\nincluding jazz bands\, rock bands\, orchestras\, percussion workshops\, and music technology sessions. He works closely with Essex Music Services as both a teacher and workshop leader\, and is actively involved with the Essex Youth Jazz Orchestra and Young Essex Jazz. \nIn addition\, Tom conducts the Essex Youth Jazz Octet and the Essex Youth Rock Band\, helping to inspire and develop the next generation of musicians.
