Pastoral care

Pastoral care is where as Christians we are called to care for our community.  It is something Christians have done for centuries and it continues today.

Here at St. Peter’s we have a small group of dedicated people whose important mission is to help those in need.  If you are ill or in a difficult situation and need help or advice our pastoral care team may be able to offer assistance.

The pastoral care team meet regularly to discuss the needs of those in the community of St. Peter’s and surrounding areas to see where they can help.  They will visit people at home, or will keep in touch by telephone. If someone is unable to get out and would like to receive Holy Communion, we can arrange for this to be taken to them at home.

Several of the group are trained bereavement supporters and are glad to offer help and support to anyone during this difficult time. This service is free of charge.

All of our pastoral care work is treated as confidential and we are here to help everyone.  So, don’t be concerned if you don’t go to church or are not a Christian!
