Volunteering
Food Bank
At St. Peter’s we support the work of the Braintree Food Bank. A trolley is placed at the back of the church for people’s donations.
The Foodbank provide us with a list of the goods they require and all donations are taken to Braintree on the first Monday of each month.
For I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me water
– Matthew 25: 35-45
We ask that people donate soup at our harvest festival and the response, as you can see, has always been very good. In future, these donations of soup will need to be in packet form and not tins as previously. Please donate if you can.
Church Cleaning
If you are able to spare a couple of hours once a month on a Saturday morning, please do come along and help out our church cleaning team.
It is hard work keeping our church looking beautiful and welcoming, and, as the saying goes, many hands make light work.
There is also the bonus of sharing time with friends, and making new ones, and the added bonus of a tea break fortified by Ron’s carrot cake. A warm welcome awaits you.
Garden care
If you would like to support us to maintain our gardens at the front of the church, please contact the churchwardens at churchwardens.stpeters@caup.org.uk
